BA/MA Design of Experiment for the planning and evaluation of parameter studies on laser polishing
In cooperation with the Chair of Laser Technology LLT at RWTH Aachen University, the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, a leading centre for contract research and development in the field of laser technology, is offering the opportunity to write a thesis in the field of "Polishing" on the subject of "Design of Experiment for the planning and evaluation of parameter studies for laser polishing". For the surface finishing of components in batch sizes 1 to 10 using laser polishing, the process parameters must be optimised in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. As the development of process parameters for laser polishing is expensive, it is not possible to evaluate an unlimited number of parameters. The main deficits of the previous, experience-based methods are a lack of explorativeness and a large number of superfluous experiments.
