BA/MA in the field of clamping fixtures
In cooperation with the Chair of Laser Technology LLT, the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT offers the opportunity to write a thesis. The trend towards hydrogen technology requires the efficient production of bipolar plates. A gas-tight plate is produced from two stainless steel half-shells. Due to the complex contour and long connection, laser beam welding is used here. For this purpose, a technical zero gap must be created between the joining partners using clamping devices. This is decisive for the quality of the resulting weld seam. The aim of this work is to design and subsequently construct a clamping device for an existing model of a bipolar plate. To reduce the handling and cycle times, a dynamic clamping concept is developed which is able to ensure the feeding of the bipolar plates for the high-speed process developed. Previous knowledge of laser technology is desirable, but not a prerequisite for carrying out this work.
