BT: »Benchmarking of high temperature materials for optics production«
High-precision glass optics are used for a wide range of applications - from classic camera lenses to lighting optics and sensor optics. An efficient and flexible manufacturing technology for glass optics is the so-called precision molding. Currently the process is limited to glasses that can be formed at relatively low temperatures (<700°C). This limitation is partly due to the limited knowledge of applicable high temperature materials. Therefore, in the announced bachelor thesis, different materials for use in high-temperature glass forming are to be identified and practically validated under production conditions. Series production facilities are available for the test series.
