Bachelor-/ Master Thesis: »Energy-Aware Scheduling for Industrial Mobile Edge Cloud Infrastructure«
At the Fraunhofer IPT in Aachen, we work with more than 530 employees every day to make the production of the future more digital, more flexible and more sustainable. The fourth industrial revolution is increasing the flexibility of industrial production and optimizing it by linking traditional production with new technologies such as IoT sensors, edge and cloud systems. This heterogeneous system requires effective orchestration that can schedule the application on these systems. While traditional scheduling algorithms exist, these do not focus on the energy footprint of applications. The aim is to implement algorithms for the orchestrator scheduler that consider the application requirements and heterogeneous energy consumption. These algorithms will be deployed to reduce the overall energy footprint.
