Together with leading clinicians and medical technology companies, we develop laser medical technology and biophotonics laser surgical procedures and systems in our department. As part of our team of physicists, engineers and clinicians, you will develop automated mechatronic systems for minimally invasive applications in neurosurgery, maxillofacial surgery and spinal surgery. For our laser surgery projects, we are looking for a committed employee with the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and who enjoys project responsibility.

What you will do

You will develop laser surgery prototypes for clinical use
Your tasks will include the development and implementation of FPGA-based real-time control systems
You will be responsible for commissioning laser surgical systems and carrying out preclinical tests
You will plan research projects and implement them under your own responsibility
You will be responsible for the development and practical testing of algorithms for real-time data processing

What you bring to the table

A university degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable field of study
Well-founded specialist knowledge of rapid control prototyping and programming of FPGA-based real-time systems
Very good knowledge of German and English
Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, C, VHDL and Simulink is advantageous
Independent and responsible way of working as well as open, team-oriented communication and commitment
