Student Assistant (m/f/d) in the field of Laser Medical Technology

The research group in Laser Medical Technology and Bioanalytics develops medical technology systems for in vitro diagnostics and microsurgery in collaboration with industrial and clinical partners. As a student assistant (m/f/d), you will gain insights into various areas of our research and development work.

 

What you will do

  • You are responsible for the development of optical test setups
  • Your role will include planning and carrying out laser experiments on biological tissue
  • The role also involves characterizing various laser sources
  • You will examine samples using SEM and laser scanning microscopy
  • Preparing and presenting the measurement results will be part of your responsibilities

 

What you bring to the table

  • You are studying Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Technology, or a comparable technical-scientific degree program
  • You can impress with basic knowledge of optics and laser physics 
  • Your profile includes an independent working style, enjoyment of hands-on activities, and a strong interest in medical technology applications
  • Ideally, you have already gained some experience with MATLAB and Python

Remuneration is based on the general works agreement on the employment of auxiliary staff.
The weekly working hours are 12 to 20 hours and will be agreed individually at the interview. 
The position is initially limited to 12 months, but we are looking for a longer-term position to accompany your studies.
