Student assistant in the field of energy management

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) currently operates 76 institutes and research units throughout Germany and is a leading applied research organization. Around 32 000 employees work with an annual research budget of 3.4 billion euros. 

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is aiming to reduce its emissions by 55% by 2030 and to be climate-neutral by 2045. To this end, the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT is introducing an energy management system (EnMS) in accordance with ISO 50001. An EnMS ensures that the institute records, monitors and analyzes energy-related data in order to identify potential savings. Furthermore, targets and measures are defined to improve energy-related performance, thereby lowering energy costs and reducing environmental impact

 

 

What you will do

  • Data acquisition on the basis of previously non-continuously recorded consumers at the institute
  • Support in the creation of a measuring point concept and its implementation in hardware and software
  • Creation of specific evaluations to assess potential or measures already implemented
  • Transfer to an automated recording and evaluation concept within an energy management system in accordance with ISO 50.001

 

 

What you bring to the table

  • You are studying mechanical engineering, mechatronics, physics, electrical or energy engineering or industrial engineering
  • You are characterized by enthusiasm and an independent way of working

Remuneration is based on the general works agreement on the employment of auxiliary staff.
The weekly working hours are from 9 to 16 hours and will be agreed individually at the interview.
The position is initially limited to 12 months, a longer term is possible.
