Technical Computer Scientist / Electrical Engineer in Laser Medical Technology

Together with leading clinicians and medical technology companies, we develop laser medical technology and biophotonics laser surgical procedures and systems in our department. As part of our team of physicists, engineers and clinicians, you will develop automated mechatronic systems for minimally invasive applications in neurosurgery, maxillofacial surgery and spinal surgery. For our laser surgery projects, we are looking for a committed employee with the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and who enjoys project responsibility.

 

What you will do

  • Commissioning of laser surgical systems and preclinical system tests
  • Conception and practical testing of algorithms for faster data processing
  • Planning, responsibility and implementation of research projects
  • Development and realization of FPGA-based real-time controls
  • Construction of laser surgery prototypes for the clinical environment

 

What you bring to the table

  • A university degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable field of study
  • Well-founded specialist knowledge of rapid control prototyping and programming of FPGA-based real-time systems
  • Very good knowledge of German and English
  • Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, C, VHDL and Simulink is advantageous
  • Independent and responsible way of working as well as open, team-oriented communication and commitment
