BT/MT: »Software infrastructure for machine learning«
Machine learning (ML) as a subset of artificial intelligence (AI) offers great potential for use cases in production. Suitable software solutions allow the end user to interact with the ML models and make the results usable where they are needed. Therefore, the goal of this thesis is to build ML services and integrate them into a live software architecture. On the one hand, underlying functionalities, including data handling and prediction making, are implemented in the backend. On the other hand, the functionalities are made accessible to the user in a frontend in form of a web application user interface. Both backend and frontend are then deployed and hosted. Within the scope of the thesis, an existing software architecture is further developed towards ML-capability. New services for industrial use cases, e.g., from optics production, are created based on the real-life requirements of industry partners. The focus is set on developing the services as well as assuring the safe operation of the overall software architecture.
