What you will do

  • Technical collaboration in the "Technology and Infrastructure" department and in the assigned technology laboratories

  • Implementation and monitoring of processes for the production of optoelectronic components with a focus on wet chemical etching

  • Supervision of various chemical engineering systems such as electroplating baths (currently a sulphide gold electroplating bath and a tin electroplating bath) or automatic cleaning machines (acid or solvent-based)

  • Support in the introduction of new methods or method optimization, including their validation and documentation

  • Various chemical work (preparation and control of mixtures, analyses, etc.)

  • Ordering chemicals, purchasing workplace-related equipment, obtaining and comparing offers and initiating the ordering process, checking delivery for quality and quantity

  • Logistics of chemicals, organizing and monitoring storage, organizing the disposal of hazardous chemical waste

  • Contributing own ideas, concepts and process improvements

 

What you bring to the table

  • Training as a chemist/chemical technician or training as a "chemical production specialist"

  • Alternatively, training as a chemical laboratory technician or CTA or comparable chemical-related training with relevant experience

  • Basic IT skills (MS Office) are required

  • Sense of responsibility, reliability, a structured, careful and independent way of working

  • Knowledge of English is an advantage

  • Enjoy operating complex production systems and a highly integrated laboratory

  • Independent, structured way of working

  • Strong error awareness

  • Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team

The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is explicitly desired.

 

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
