Head of Backend
Future. Discover. Together. The backend of the Fraunhofer HHI is part of the technology department with 8 scientists and around 40 technologists. We process sophisticated optoelectronic InP, SiNx, LNoI-based components in 3" to 6" technology. Development projects and small series for optoelectronic data transmission and sensor technology are carried out using state-of-the-art processes (e.g. sputter coating systems, fully and semi-automatic scriber & breaker and facet coating systems). The Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute is a world leader in the development of photonic integrated circuits (PICs). About every second bit transmitted on the Internet touches a PIC from the HHI. Be a part of our team and come on a journey of research and innovation!
