Mandatory internship (m/f/d) - Software development for virtual reality and augmented reality

For over 35 years, the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology in Berlin has stood for excellence in production science. We are dedicated to bridging the gap between science and practice in the field of industrial production and offer application-oriented system solutions for the entire spectrum of industrial tasks – from product development to the production process, maintenance of capital goods, and recycling of products to the design and management of factory operations.

 

What you will do

 

As part of a compact interdisciplinary team, you will support projects with a focus on software development and work on VR/AR demonstrators in the Unity Engine. You will gain insights into application-oriented research and have the opportunity to actively shape industrial applications.

 

What you bring to the table

 

  • Studies in computer science, media informatics, or a comparable field of study
  • Practical experience in software development (Unity Engine)
  • Very good programming skills in C#
  • Experience with the Git version control system
  • High level of initiative and ability to work independently, in a results-oriented and structured manner
  • Enjoy working in an interdisciplinary team
  • Very good German and English skills

 

Optional:

  • Experience with Adobe tools (Premiere, Illustrator, etc.)
  • UI/UX experience and confidence in designing digital interfaces

The weekly working time is 39 hours (full-time).

Remuneration is based on the federal guidelines for internship remuneration.

The duration of the thesis depends on the requirements of your university.
