Research Associate - Optical Communication Technology/System Design for 6G Communication

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) currently operates 76 institutes and research units throughout Germany and is a leading applied research organization. Around 32 000 employees work with an annual research budget of 3.4 billion euros.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration IZM is an internationally leading institute in the field of electronic packaging for microelectronic systems with locations in Berlin, Cottbus and Dresden. Applied research focuses on technology developments in the areas of wafer level system integration and interconnection technologies at board, module and package level. Application-oriented co-design as well as reliability and sustainability studies are also used to supplement important application requirements. The focus in the area of environmentally friendly electronics is on modeling individual microelectronic processes through to modeling complete life cycles of entire products .

The "Photonic & Plasmonic Systems" group is an interdisciplinary team of scientists specializing in research and development in the fields of photonics, plasmonics, and quantum technologies. Our research interests include the design and characterization of photonic integrated circuits and communication systems. In addition, we are dedicated to researching quantum technologies, neuromorphic computing, and the development of 5G/6G technologies.
