What you will do
Design and simulation of new building blocks (e.g. modulators, photodetectors and passives) for the generic InP Foundry Platform Steering and controlling the foundry wafer processing Research work on existing projects Interacting with industry partners in joint projects The scientific work offers the possibility of a doctorate.
What you bring to the table
A scientific university degree in physics, electrical engineering, or a related subject Knowledge in the field of optics/photonics Knowledge in semiconductor processing Good knowledge of English or German Team spirit, a structured approach to work, and the ability to independently develop ideas for new research activities The following knowledge is an advantage: Experience in optical or electro-optical simulation tools (e.g. Fimmwave or HFSS) Programming skills in Python Experience in software development and version control software such as Gitlab

The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is explicitly desired.
The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
