Senior Scientist Molecular Beam Epitaxy

What you will do

  • Leading and developing the laboratory for molecular beam epitaxy at the Heinrich Hertz Institute

  • Operation of a gas-source MBE, model 412

  • Implementation and development of epitaxy processes using MBE 

  • Management of research projects and direct development contracts 

  • Cooperation with national and international partners

 

What you bring to the table

  • Completed scientific university degree and PhD in physics, electrical engineering or a related field

  • Excellent knowledge and several years of proven experience in the epitaxy of III-V semiconductors using MBE

  • Excellent knowledge of epitaxy analytics 

  • Proven experience in operating an MBE

  • Sound knowledge and experience in the implementation of research projects

  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external partners and customers

  • Very good written and spoken German and English

  • Independent work, strategic thinking, organization and coordination

The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is explicitly desired.

 

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
