Student Assistant Affective Computing in Virtual Reality

The research group "Interactive and Cognitive Systems" investigates artificial and natural cognitive systems and develops novel methods of human-machine interaction. What you will do

  • Support cutting-edge psychophysiological experiments on affective state recognition in virtual reality (VR)

  • Assist in investigating proxemics and personal space intrusion in immersive VR environments

  • Collect and analyse multimodal physiological data, including EEG, ECG, EDA, and pupillometry

  • Contribute to the development of adaptive VR systems informed by real-time physiological signals

 

What you bring to the table

  • Enrolled Bachelor/Master student with good grades in one of the following programs: Electric engineering, computer science, cognitive science, applied mathematics, physics, neuroscience or a related field

  • A good command of Python for data processing (MNE python, NumPy, Pandas)

  • Hands-on-knowledge in signal processing

  • Experiences with the conduction of neuroscientific/psychophysiological experiments are an advantage

  • Ability to independently work on the agreed tasks and implementations

The position is initially limited to 1 year. An extension is explicitly desired. 

There is no remuneration for pure Master's theses.

 

The monthly working time is 80 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
