Student Assistant Digital Predistortion using Neural Networks

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) currently operates 76 institutes and research units throughout Germany and is a leading applied research organization. Around 32 000 employees work with an annual research budget of 3.4 billion euros.

Future. Discover. Together.

As a research institution based in Berlin, the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute creates innovations for the digital society of the future and is a global leader in the field of optical data transmission. We offer the coveted combination of a highly scientific environment and insight into industry-related work. Rapidly increasing data traffic worldwide requires ever higher data rates and lower latencies in all areas of telecommunications. The transmission side of wide-area networks in particular limits the achievable data rates increasingly. With the goal of improved signal integrity, we are therefore researching concepts of digital pre-distortion for the generation of analog signals with bandwidth beyond 100 GHz, also utilizing neural networks and methods of machine learning. Be a part of our team and come on a journey of research and innovation!
