Student Assistant Multimedia Communications

What you will do

  • Conducting research in the fields of low latency communications and multipath extension for QUIC

  • Participating in the development of transmission schemes, protocols, and cross-layer optimizations (e.g., Access Traffic Steering, Switching, and Splitting (ATSSS)) for contributing to relevant standardization bodies

  • Implementing prototypes involving congestion control and multipath over QUIC to optimize for Quality of Service (QoS)

 

What you bring to the table

  • You are a student in Communications/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar fields at a German university

  • Good understanding of 5G network architecture and protocols

  • Good knowledge of the following programming languages: C++, C#, Rust

  • Good coding skills in terms of efficiency, readability, and cleanliness

  • Creative thinking and interest for novel technologies

  • Good communication skills and teamwork spirit

  • Excellent spoken and written English

The position is initially limited to 12 months. An extension is explicitly desired.

 

The monthly working time is 80 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
