  • Driving innovative AI and robotics research
  • Development and implementation, practical application, theoretical analysis and evaluation of AI algorithms
  • Implementation of deep learning and generative models
  • Improvement of models, e.g. in terms of efficiency, training performance or inference behavior

 

What you contribute

  • Enrolled Bachelor's/Master's student in full-time studies in the fields of computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or related courses with good to very good grades
  • Programming experience, especially good to very good knowledge of Python
  • Experience with machine learning, in particular with neural networks and their implementation (Pytorch, Tensorflow or similar)
  • Motivation and initiative
  • Residence in Berlin and surrounding area, as the position can only be performed on site in Berlin for optimal collaboration with colleagues
  • Interest in robotics and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), for example:
    • Robot learning, including reinforcement learning, behavior cloning, Sim2Real
    • Mathematical optimization, differential equations, generative/flow models, and constraint solvers
    • Fundamental research and method development in areas of local feature attribution, global and mechanistic interpretability
    • XAI-based model improvements, evaluation of AI models, and physics-informed neural networks (PINNs)
    • Applications in a wide range of machine learning models, architectures, inference targets and data modalities

The position is initially limited to 1 year. An extension is explicitly desired.

 

The monthly working time is 80 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
