Student Assistant Robotics Programming/Digital Agriculture

The research group "Interactive and Cognitive Systems" studies artificial and natural cognitive systems in a wide range of application fields. In our experimental field, we apply our methods to agriculture. For this purpose, we are seeking support in implementing cognitive and AI methods on a Farmbot, an agricultural robot. Be a part of our team and come on a journey of research and innovation!


What you will do

  • Setup, installation, and maintenance of the Farmbot

  • Implementation of cognitive and AI methods for the Farmbot

  • Testing and evaluation of various methods

  • Conducting experiments

  • Opportunity to write a master's thesis on this topic in six months or later


What you bring to the table

  • Enrolled master's student with good grades in one of the following programs: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Agricultural Sciences

  • Interest in writing their master's thesis about this project

  • Good knowledge of Python, REST, RabbitMQ

  • Experience in developing application-specific ML models, implementing and testing existing models

  • Independent working style

The position is initially limited to 1 year. An extension is explicitly desired.


The monthly working time is 80 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
