Working Student CAD Design in the Millimeter Wave Group

The focus of the research work at the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications – HHI is excellent research and innovations. We are globally leading in the research of mobile and optical communication networks and systems, as well as in machine learning, computer vision, and digital video compression. The Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institute researches and develops innovative technologies for future mobile radio systems of the 6th generation (6G) and beyond. The focus of the Millimeter Wave research group is the design, simulation, and implementation of mobile communication systems in the frequency range between 6 GHz and 500 GHz. What you will do

Depending on personal qualifications and interests, the following tasks are possible:

  • Designing mechanical components
  • Creating assemblies
  • 3D printing of components
  • Commissioning the manufacturing of designs
  • Design realization of waveguide components

 

What you bring to the table

  • You are a full-time student at a German university/college in mechanical engineering or similar study subjects
  • Knowledge of construction
  • Experience with 3D/CAD software, e.g., Solidworks
  • Interest in manufacturing technologies

The position is initially limited to 1 year. An extension is explicitly desired.

 

The monthly working time is up to 80 hours.
