Working student Java Backend Development

The Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems FOKUS is one of the largest ICT institutes in the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.

We are looking for a working student to join our 30-strong Open Service Engineering (OSE) team as soon as possible to support the development of innovative Java applications.

 

What you will do

  • You are involved in
    • Implementation work on Java (vert.x) components
    • The development of MicroServices
  • You process technical tickets via our GitLab system
  • Together with your team you discuss architectural and technical issues
  • You work closely with your colleagues and support each other with implementation work
  • You write tests for your own code

 

What you bring to the table

  • You are currently enrolled in a degree program with a focus on computer science for at least three semesters
  • You have advanced knowledge of Java and basic knowledge of Kotlin
  • You have in-depth knowledge of containerization with Docker
  • Basic knowledge of Linked Date, RDF and Semantic Web is an advantage
  • You are business fluent in German and have an advanced knowledge of English

The wage depends on the progress of your studies and is between 15.74 € and 17.27 € per hour.

The monthly working time is 80 hours. The contract is limited to one year. In general, we are interested in a longer-term collaboration.
