Fraunhofer MEVIS is a world-leading and internationally connected research center for computer assistance in medicine. With 140 employees, we conduct patient-centered research tailored to clinical processes in order to work together with our clinical partners on the digital medicine of the future. Together with you, we would like to expand our expertise in software support for the reduction of complications and recurrences in minimally invasive procedures.
What you will do
You will support us on the path to the future of digital medicine in the role of Senior Scientist and bring your personal experience and ideas with you. You will lead and coordinate teams of STEM researchers and physicians and work on projects in the field of digital medicine. You will understand the requirements of industry and users of medical devices. You see the acquisition of third-party scientific funding and industry projects as a natural part of your job.
What you bring to the table
• A doctoral degree in applied mathematics, computer science, biomedical engineering or a related discipline You complement your professional qualifications with your personal strengths: you have strong conceptual and analytical skills, enjoy working in a team and bring a structured approach to work, curiosity for new topics and a high degree of initiative.
• Professional experience in digital medicine applications and project acquisition
• At least 2 years of experience in project management or team leadership
• Enthusiasm for networking and working in an agile environment
• Software knowledge in the area of biomedical simulation, machine learning, robotics, navigation or AR/VR
• You have a business-fluent command of written and spoken English
• You enjoy interacting with physicians and other scientists and presenting the results of your work.

The weekly working time is 39 hours. There is also the possibility to work part-time in this position.
The position is initially limited to 3 years. We are looking for a long-term cooperation with you.
