Speculative Application Career Starters and Experienced Professionals

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) currently operates 76 institutes and research institutions throughout Germany and is the world’s leading applied research organization. Around 30 800 employees work with an annual research budget of 3.0 billion euros.

Who we are ...
Our primary focuses at Fraunhofer IWES are on wind energy and hydrogen technologies. Our institute is home to more than 300 scientists and employees as well as over 100 students from over 30 countries pursuing careers in applied research and development at nine sites. We secure investments in technological developments through validation, shorten innovation cycles, accelerate certification procedures, and increase planning accuracy by means of innovative measurement methods.

Do you want to join our team and help shape the future of wind and hydrogen technologies? Great, as we are always looking for new talents at all our sites!

What you will do

Our fields of research are very diverse ...
You can contribute to the further development of test benches for large wind turbine components and independently perform tests on them or measuring electrical properties. You can also get involved in material testing or the automation of processes. Sitting in a lab is not your thing, and you are more interested in testing your methods in the real world? No problem! With us, you can run measurement campaigns on wind turbines in the field, prepare and follow up on wind measurement campaigns, or investigate the subsoil offshore. Perhaps simulation is more your thing, and you would prefer to run simulations of wind farm sites? We have a place for you as well. Hydrogen is more your thing? Awesome! Here, you can conduct electrochemical investigations of electrolysis and fuel cell components to test their efficiency in operation, for example. We work in close cooperation with industry and other research institutes in the scope of national and international research projects, which means thrilling projects in the administration and technical areas are always waiting for you around the corner. Still not found the right topic for you? Write to us and tell us what you are interested in – our fields of research are very diverse. We support each other irrespective of the focus of our work and our backgrounds. A culture of open exchange and cooperation beyond team boundaries and sites are particularly important to us.

What you bring to the table

What is your specialist background?

Have you already got some experience with wind energy or hydrogen technologies? We look forward to your application, whether you are planning to expand your knowledge or want to start your professional career with us. We are internationally oriented at the IWES, so knowledge of both German and English will make your everyday work easier.
