Research Engineer* / Research Scientist* for Development of Radar Sensor Systems

The Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration, IZM, is one of the world's leading institutes for electronic packaging and system-integration technologies as well as for applied research and development of robust and reliable electronic components, modules and systems.

 

R&D activities at Fraunhofer IZM Branch Lab in Cottbus concentrate on the development of cost-effective, miniaturized and application-specific high-frequency sensors and high-speed systems as well as on the investigation of novel millimeter-wave and terahertz packaging solutions for these systems.

 

We are currently looking for a research engineer*/scientist* in the area of radar sensor systems at our Branch Lab in Cottbus.

 

What you will do

  • Radar system design (e.g. for continuous wave radars such as FMCW, BPSK and MIMO radar)
  • Design and development of radar signal processing algorithms
  • Test of radar systems
  • Radar link budget analysis

 

What you bring to the table

  • Scientific university degree in a technical subject such as Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar
  • Experience in design and test of radar systems
  • Experience in radar signal processing
  • Interest in acquisition of research and development projects in the area of radar sensor systems

The contract is initially limited to two years with the potential for an extension. The weekly working time is 39 hours. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis.
