Research Engineer* / Research Scientist* for High-Frequency Design

The Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration, IZM, is one of the world's leading institutes for electronic packaging and system-integration technologies as well as for applied research and development of robust and reliable electronic components, modules and systems.

R&D activities at Fraunhofer IZM Branch Lab in Cottbus concentrate on the development of cost-effective, miniaturized and application-specific high-frequency sensors and high-speed systems as well as on the investigation of novel millimeter-wave and terahertz packaging solutions for these systems.

We are currently looking for a research engineer*/scientist* in the area of high-frequency design at Fraunhofer IZM in Cottbus.

What you will do

Electromagnetic field simulations of antennas, RF packages and printed circuit boards (PCBs)
Layout of chip packages and PCBs
High frequency measurements, e.g. S-parameter and antenna measurements
Work in public funded and industry funded R&D projects

What you bring to the table

University degree in a technical subject such as electrical engineering, physics or similar
Experience in using high-frequency simulation tools, e.g. HFSS, CST
Experience in using layout tools
Interest in acquisition of R&D projects
Independent and structured working method
Team player

The contract is initially limited to two years with the potential for an extension. The weekly working time is 39 hours. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis.
