Researcher in Cybersecurity
Digitization poses major challenges for society, business, and politics. In order to shape it successfully, many practice-relevant research questions of cybersecurity and privacy protection need to be addressed.
The National Research Center for Applied Cyber Security ATHENE is a research institution of the Fraunhofer Society, with the participation of the Fraunhofer Institutes SIT and IGD as well as the universities TU Darmstadt and Hochschule Darmstadt. In a hitherto unique and innovative model of cooperation between university and non-university research, ATHENE conducts cutting-edge research for the benefit of the economy, society, and state and sets scientific impulses.
Fraunhofer SIT is one of the leading research institutions for IT security in Germany and Europe. The focus is on applied research and the development of innovative solutions for real security and data protection issues.
In this context, several positions are available to work on research and development projects in the field of applied cybersecurity research, both for career starters and for people with professional experience who aim to develop their careers accordingly.
What you will do
Applied research projects in the field of cybersecurity and data protection Collaboration in publicly funded projects and/or projects directly commissioned by industry partners Concept development and project management tasks Preparation of project reports and scientific publications Presentation of research results in the context of publications and lectures at national and international conferences
What you bring to the table
Master of Science degree in computer science or another field related to cybersecurity Knowledge and experience in the field of cybersecurity willingness to take on new challenges Strong analytical thinking ability to work in a team

The weekly working time is 39 hours.
