Student assistant in the field of software development for 3D content on the web
The Competence Center of Autonomous Digitization Technologies at Fraunhofer IGD develops and automates 3D scanning technologies to allow for automatic 3D reconstruction of cultural heritage and industrial objects. Different acquisition devices are used depending on the object’s properties and quality requirements. We are working on a cloud platform with a 3D viewer to make the results of our measurement technologies easily accessible.
Be part of change
The main responsibility is to take over the development of our web 3D offering and support the development of the associated backend components. On the frontend, we use Preact with TypeScript, along with an OpenGL renderer written in C++. On the backend, a server written in Python is used to handle tasks related to serving data, metadata, and authentication. Since both sides are closely integrated, there will be plenty of work on both sides during development.
