Developing innovative technology solutions and bringing them to application - that is our goal at the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS. With our expertise in the development of photonic microsystems, related technologies including nanoelectronics and wireless communication solutions, we create - in flexible and interdisciplinary teams - technologies for innovative products in various markets such as automotive, industry and aerospace.

 

The focus of our department 'Data Communication & Computing' lies on various solutions for optical wireless communication (LiFi), Ethernet TSN, CAN, LIN and RISC-V. Due to our own long experience we are able to successfully support our customers in topics like low power sensor technology, signal processing, but also miniaturized modules and systems as well as mixed signal and digital design for FPGAs and ASICs. To strengthen our team we are looking for a new talented Digital Designer as soon as possible.

 

 

What you will do

  • In the first step it is important for us that you get to know our infrastructures and technologies to get an overall impression.
  • Basically, in this role you will accompany different projects with your teammates, e.g. in the automotive or industrial sector.
  • Another important task is to support the requirement analysis of new customer systems.
  • Tasks such as the development of digital IP blocks and subsystems for FPGAs and ASICs are also part of your area of responsibility. 

 

What you bring to the table

  • You have successfully completed a university degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a comparable field of study.
  • It is an advantage if you already have first experiences in the following areas:
    • Digital design for Xilinx, Intel or Lattice FPGAs as well as ASICs
    • Test and verification of IP cores
  • Due to the international projects you should have good German and English skills.

The weekly working time is 39 hours. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis. The position is limited to 2 years. A longer cooperation is aspired.
