Research Associate - Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Cognitive Sensor Technology

Intelligent components can detect and evaluate changes in the environment or in the system itself and adapt to them independently. As a partner of industry, Fraunhofer IIS/EAS develops key technologies for adaptive systems with approximately 110 employees and offers innovative and robust solutions.

The extension of classical signal processing of sensor technology by methods of artificial intelligence is an exciting topic for you?

Depending on individual qualifications, experience background and interest, work in various research fields is possible:

 

  • Further development of artificial intelligence methods for industrial data analysis with the aim of optimizing processes, operation and maintenance.
  • Development of efficient training methods for the integration of artificial intelligence into industrial environments or energy management systems
  • Development of physical and virtual test environments for cognitive, cyber-physical systems and the corresponding wireless communications
  • Further development of AI methods for integration into embedded systems to realize integration-capable, cognitive sensor technology

 

What you bring to the table

  • Completed scientific university studies or doctorate in electrical engineering, information systems engineering, applied mathematics or comparable studies
  • First experiences in the field of data analysis and machine learning methods
  • Profound knowledge in at least one of the relevant application areas
    • Sensor signal processing
    • Automation and control engineering
    • Model-based development, system simulation
    • Hardware design and design methods
  • Programming experience in relevant scripting languages (e.g. Python)
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Communication skills and willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams

Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD). Additionally Fraunhofer may grant performance-based variable remuneration components. The weekly working time is 39 hours.The position can also be filled part time.
