The Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP is located in Dresden and focuses on developing innovative solutions, technologies and processes for surface modification and organic electronics. For the development of solutions for various industrial tasks in surface treatment, vacuum coating and for organic semiconductors we use our core competencies in

  • electron beam technology,

  • roll-to-roll technology,

  • plasma-activated large-area and precision coating,

  • technologies for organic electronics,

  • IC design and

  • the development of technological key components.

We offer a broad range of research, development and pilot manufacturing opportunities, especially for the treatment, structuring and finishing of surfaces as well as for OLED microdisplays, organic and inorganic sensors, optical filters and flexible OLED lighting. Our fields of work are subdivided into 7 business units based on the different materials and geometries being processed and due to special technological synergies.

What you will do

  • As a student/research assistant or intern, you will support interesting projects in our various research areas.
  • As part of a Bachelor's or Master's thesis, you will work on a scientific topic relating to one of our diverse research projects.
  • For a mandatory internship in our research facility, you will gain an insight into the working world of the respective departments or specialist areas.

 

What you bring to the table

  • You are enthusiastic about technological challenges and would like to support us in industry-related research projects

  • Ongoing studies, preferably in the natural sciences or in the field of electrical engineering / information technology or in a related field of study

  • in an independent way of working and enjoy interdisciplinary teamwork

  • good language skills in German and/or English
