Lab Engineer Supervision of the sound labs and research vehicles

Our goal is to create the best possible sound in vehicles, ensuring that all passengers can enjoy their choice of music to the fullest. Our Automotive team belongs to the Audio and Media Technologies division in Erlangen. We focus on mastering specific sound challenges in cars and on developing pioneering solutions for the automotive industry. Our algorithms are integrated in production vehicles from various premium manufacturers and create new sound dimensions and enhanced convenience functions for top-of-the-range sound systems.

You will ...

  • Supervise our sound labs and research vehicles
  • Work closely with algorithm developers and sound engineers to design hardware concepts for new sound systems and implement them in vehicles
  • Coordinate the installation of speakers and state-of-the-art digital audio equipment in vehicles
  • Be responsible for testing, measuring and documenting when sound systems are being commissioned
  • Handle the planning, preparation and straightforward execution of technology presentations
  • Play a key role in designing the sound lab equipment and contribute to optimizing workflows
  • Develop an understanding of the algorithms we use and drive their further development
  • Use Confluence and Jira to document and manage work packages

 

What you bring to the table

  • University degree in media technology, mechatronics, sound technology, engineering or natural sciences
  • Experience with modern digital audio equipment and audio software, and with using speaker systems and amplifiers
  • Solid understanding of digital audio signal processing
  • Manual skills, possibly with additional technical vocational training
  • Strong interest in the automotive field
  • Excellent command of spoken and written German and English
  • Willing to travel for business trips, driver’s license

The position is initially limited to 2 years with the aim of extending it subsequently. The total weekly working time is 39 hours.
