Pflichtpraktikum - Interference Effects in Optical Lithography

At the Erlangen site, the more than 400 employees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Systems and Device Technology IISB conduct application-oriented research and development on innovative topics in semiconductor technology and power electronics.

 

The »Lithography and Optics« working group focuses on the development and application of physical-chemical models, numerical algorithms and software for simulating lithographic processes.

What you will do

  • Use the Dr.LiTHO software to determine the distribution of light inside a photoresist
  • Develop novel approaches to control the light intensity inside the resist and implement respective models to assess the suitability of these approaches
  • Document all steps of the implementation, including the use of Dr.LiTHO and prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate progress and findings

 

What you bring to the table

  • Enrolled in a Master’s program in advanced optical technologies (AOT) or related fields like computer science, electrical engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics, mechanical engineering or related fields
  • Proficiency in Python with an emphasis on object-oriented programming (OOP)
  • Understanding of optical lithography and resist simulations is highly desirable
  • Good command of written and spoken English

The weekly working time is 39 hours. The duration of the internship is three to six months, depending on the agreement.
