Software Developer - Interface Development for a Digital Twin

The »Operator-based Learning« group in Fürth works to bring expertise from physics, signal processing and mathematics to deep learning models in order to increase the generalizability of solutions and to reduce dependency on training data. We design signal reconstruction solutions for industrial metrology and nondestructive material testing.

What you will do

We are looking for a software developer to help develop and implement an interface for a new digital twin in the context of machine learning as a tool to close cycles in lightweight plastic packaging. Your role will involve, among other things, creating the specifications for and implementing the new interface as well as creating and implementing a software environment for a digital twin for a lightweight packaging sorting system. You will also develop a strategy for processing and collating various sensor data, and establish a way of integrating artificial neural networks. You will be working alongside the data scientists developing the models to be integrated. 

 

What you bring to the table

  • A higher education qualification in computer science or a related subject 
  • Expertise in Python and C++ 
  • Background in signal processing and software architecture 
  • Confident using version control systems such as GIT and unit testing frameworks such as Google Test 
  • Ideally knowledge of machine learning 
  • Experience using PyTorch/TensorFlow would be an advantage 

 

The position is also suitable for career starters with corresponding prior knowledge and experience from internships, student research projects or final theses.

The weekly working time is 39 hours. It is also possible to work part-time. The position is initially limited to 2 years with the aim to extend it subsequently
