Student Assistant - Deep Learning for Reconstruction

The »Operator-based Learning« group at the Development Center for X-Ray Technology (EZRT) in Fürth, Germany, is concerned with incorporating knowledge from physics, signal processing and mathematics into Deep Learning models, to increase the generalizability of the solutions and to and to reduce the dependence on training data. We develop solutions for signal reconstruction in the context of industrial metrology and non-destructive material testing.

What you will do

  • You will support in the development (algorithmic & methodological) of our framework Pyronn to embed prior knowledge into ML frameworks like Pytorch and Tensorflow
  • You create software tools for the development and training process of the models
  • You train deep neural networks and evaluate the results using objective quality metrics
  • You develop an consistent and efficient workflow for the creation and processing of training data by linking internal software frameworks

 

What you bring to the table

  • You are currently studying computer science, physics, mathematics or a related field
  • You have experience in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, Cuda
  • You have experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch
  • You have good knowledge in Machine Learning, CT Reconstruction or Computer Vision

Weekly working hours are determined by agreement. You can reduce your hours before exams and increase them during semester breaks. You can flexibly determine the working days. After your studies, you have the option of working with us full or part time.
