Process Engineer (All Genders) - Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE)
The Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Solid State Physics IAF is one of the world's leading research institutions in the fields of III-V semiconductors and synthetic diamond. Together with our partners from industry and science, we research and develop electronic, optoelectronic and quantum technology components and systems. Our focus is on research and development for applications in the areas of security, health, energy, information and communication. We are an internationally leading competence center for molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), in which thin, functional semiconductor layers are deposited on semiconductor wafers with atomic precision.
What you will do
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a degree in technical physics (technical college or university) who enjoys practical work in the laboratory and wants to work in a creative research environment at the highest technical level without necessarily pursuing a scientific career themselves. We offer the opportunity to contribute your knowledge of ultra-high vacuum technology and molecular beam epitaxy of crystalline semiconductor layers to the operation of our large-scale systems. The focus of your work is on the implementation and further development of sophisticated MBE processes for the realization of innovative optoelectronic and electronic components within the framework of national and international research collaborations.
What you bring to the table
