Student Assistant - Artificial Intelligence in the field of additive production control systems
The Production Control Systems Team is working on the deployment of rule-based and data-driven algorithms for production planning, digital assistance systems, and the general development of AI solutions for additive manufacturing. Additive manufacturing has demonstrated its potential in various industries through the economical production of custom-tailored components. However, the qualification of new materials for additive manufacturing processes is an iterative and resource-intensive process. The challenge addressed by AddiBase lies in the efficient management and analysis of the extensive data generated during this process. There is a lack of standardized and automated systems that enable fast, reliable, and cost-effective material qualification. The Fraunhofer Research Institution for Additive Production Technologies IAPT in Hamburg Bergedorf is one of the leading institutions for the industrialization of additive production. We focus primarily on socially relevant sectors such as life sciences, energy, mobility and security. Our research ranges from component design and processes to factory planning and digitalization: we look at the entire production route. Numerous spin-offs and patent applications underline the value of our innovations.

Remuneration according to the general works agreement for employing assistant staff.
The weekly working time can be arranged individually with a maximum of 20 hours.
The position is initially limited to one year. However, we are interested in a longer-term collaboration.
