We offer several exciting job activities in our department »Electronic Measurements and Signal Processing«. Together with the same-named research group at Technische Universität Ilmenau we work in the field of mobile communications and signal processing with the main research focus on channel sounding and modelling up to 60 GHz, emulation of virtual EM environments (e.g. via wave field synthesis) as well as signal processing and algorithms by using compressed sensing and sparsity promoting reconstruction or high resolution parameter estimation (e.g. DOA estimation).

What you will do

Depending on the focus of your studies and your interests, we will find a topic that suits your conception and our requirements.

 

What you bring to the table

  • You study Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Media Technology, Computer Science and Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Technical Physics, Mechatronics or any adjacent field of study
  • You live near Ilmenau and you can work on site
  • You have a certain mathematical understanding, basic knowledge in communication technology and digital signal processing
  • You have acquired first experiences with common software development environments and utilization of programming languages (e.g. Python, Matlab)

Weekly working hours are determined by agreement. You can start from now on (as a student assistant from 6 to 20 hours a week or as an intern for a period of at least three months). You can reduce your hours before exams and increase them during semester breaks. You can flexibly determine the working days. After your studies, you have the option of working with us full or part time.

 

We would be happy to offer you the opportunity to write a bachelor's or master's thesis in cooperation with us in the above-mentioned subject area. The thesis will be assigned and carried out in accordance with the rules of your university. For this reason, please discuss the thesis with a professor who can advise you over the course of the project.
