Student Assistant for the development of a user interface for multi-drone applications in Ingolstadt

The research group “Autonomous Systems” continuously develops and investigates methods and algorithms to ensure

the efficient and collision-free operation of autonomous drones in shared airspace.
 

 

What you will do

In the development stage, both simulations and real test platforms are needed to test and demonstrate

the functionality of algorithms. As a student assistant, you will take on independent tasks and primarily

work on building a user interface for multi-drone applications. This interface is intended to serve as a Ground

Station in the future to coordinate the simultaneous operation of multiple development drones. Additionally,

you will be involved in commissioning the development drones and the Ground Station, as well as participating

in some flight experiments.

 

What you bring to the table

  • enrolled in a study program in engineering, preferably in the fields of computer science, electrical engineering or information technology 
  • programming experience in C++ and Python, experience with ROS is desirable
  • experience in creating user interfaces (ideally with Qt Creator)
  • very good academic performance
  • structured, independent and results-oriented style of work
  • ambition, creativity and commitment in everyday work

This position is also available on a part-time basis.
