Working student - GUI programming

The Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology ISIT is one of Europe's most modern research institutes for microelectronics and microsystems technology and offers a future-oriented research and production environment for a total of 190 employees and several site partners in Itzehoe with a technology-oriented equipment pool, two clean rooms and approx. 700 m² of laboratory space. As a bridge builder between research and pre-development on the one hand and commercial application on the other, ISIT in Itzehoe is an exciting employer with innovative prospects for the future.

The focus of the »MEMS Applications« business unit is on the design, development and manufacture of application-relevant MEMS components and MEMS systems. In the »Agglomerated Microsystems« group, MEMS parts and components are produced using the patented PowderMEMS technology. What you will do

User-friendly user graphical user interfaces (GUIs) are to be created for the efficient characterization of magnetic structures for measuring devices and for the appealing presentation of device demonstrators.

Python and MATLAB are used to program the GUIs.  
Your task is to implement, adapt and extend the GUIs in consultation with the users. The task can largely be accomplished remotely.

 

What you bring to the table

  • You are studying computer science, materials science, physics or a related natural or engineering science program 
  • You have knowledge of Python and/or MATLAB and enjoy complex programming tasks 
  • Basic knowledge of magnetism is advantageous, but not essential 
  • High willingness to learn and an independent and goal-oriented way of working

The weekly working time is 15 hours.
