What you will do

  • Initiation, planning, and coordination of national and international scientific collaborations and initiatives 
  • Development, organization, and design of educational activities on photonic quantum technologies, e.g., workshops, lectures, and networking events 
  • Monitoring and analysis of current scientific developments, technologies, and trends as well as market and application potentials 
  • Support of the institute's management in the acquisition of large-scale projects, in particular review and preparation of information on relevant funding programs, technology and market analyses, and preparation of draft resolutions
  • Support of strategy development in the context of Fraunhofer, the EU and the national research landscape

 

What you bring to the table

  • Completed STEM studies, e.g., in physics, engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent, ideally with a completed doctorate in the field of photonics or quantum technology
  • Experience in the initiation, acquisition, management, and coordination of scientific research projects 
  • Experience and enthusiasm about independently organizing and designing lectures, workshops, and further training events 
  • Experience in writing, coordinating, and editing scientific texts in German and English
  • Extensive experience in science management and technology management as well as in the field of science communication
  • The ability to think strategically and in an interdisciplinary way in combination with a structured and precise way of working
  • A high degree of independence, initiative and flexibility, commitment, team orientation and communication skills
  • The ability to navigate and proactively shape a rapidly evolving environment

The weekly working time is 39 hours. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis. The position is initially limited to 2 years. We are looking for a long-term cooperation. Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD). Additionally Fraunhofer may grant performance-based variable remuneration components.
