What you will do

Initiation, planning, and coordination of national and international scientific collaborations and initiatives
Development, organization, and design of educational activities on photonic quantum technologies, e.g., workshops, lectures, and networking events
Monitoring and analysis of current scientific developments, technologies, and trends as well as market and application potentials
Support of the institute's management in the acquisition of large-scale projects, in particular review and preparation of information on relevant funding programs, technology and market analyses, and preparation of draft resolutions
Support of strategy development in the context of Fraunhofer, the EU and the national research landscape

What you bring to the table

Completed STEM studies, e.g., in physics, engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent, ideally with a completed doctorate in the field of photonics or quantum technology
Experience in the initiation, acquisition, management, and coordination of scientific research projects
Experience and enthusiasm about independently organizing and designing lectures, workshops, and further training events
Experience in writing, coordinating, and editing scientific texts in German and English
Extensive experience in science management and technology management as well as in the field of science communication
The ability to think strategically and in an interdisciplinary way in combination with a structured and precise way of working
A high degree of independence, initiative and flexibility, commitment, team orientation and communication skills
The ability to navigate and proactively shape a rapidly evolving environment

The weekly working time is 39 hours. The position can also be filled on a part-time basis. The position is initially limited to 2 years. We are looking for a long-term cooperation. Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD). Additionally Fraunhofer may grant performance-based variable remuneration components.
