Internship - Initiative application

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) currently operates 76 institutes and research units throughout Germany and is a leading applied research organization. Around 32 000 employees work with an annual research budget of 3.4 billion euros. 

Fraunhofer IEE in Kassel researches in the fields of energy economics and energy system technology with a focus on: Energy Informatics, Energy Meteorology and Geoinformation Systems, Energy Economics and System Design, Energy Process Engineering and Storage, Grid Planning and Operation, Grid Stability and Power Converter Technology, and Thermal Energy Technology. Around 450 scientists, employees and students develop solutions for the energy transition and generate around 38 million euros in revenue per year.

 

What you will do

Join us in developing solutions for technical and economic challenges under the slogan "Shaping the energy transition" to further reduce costs, secure supply, advance digitalization in the energy industry and enable new business models in the energy transition.

 

What you bring to the table

  • Ongoing studies in (electrical) engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related field of study with a scientific or business background
  • Enthusiasm for scientific concepts of renewable energies
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English, both written and spoken
  • Additional qualifications depend on the individual research area

With us, you could carry out a compulsory internship in accordance with the study regulations, a voluntary internship (lasting up to three months), a student internship, an internship within the framework of the specialized secondary school or a voluntary social year.
