Research Associate - Real Time Simulation and HiL Testing

Our »Electronic Energy Systems« group develops software and hardware approaches for highly available and highly efficient power conversion systems, in particular for grid applications and electric drives. More information can be found here.

 

What you will do

  • Research in the direction of Hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) for the development and testing of control strategies for electric energy systems including co-simulation and co-demonstration
  • Research in the field of Power-HiL for testing and qualification of power converters
  • Contribution to the development of test set-ups and procedures
  • Communication of your results both internally and externally and collaboration with scientists in the team
  • Contrubution to our scientific profiling by means of publications as well as acquisition of research and industrial projects

 

What you bring to the table

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification in a related field
  • Experience with real time simulation and HiL testing with Opal-RT, Typhoon HIL, and/or Plexim
  • Experience in the field of DC-grid stability is beneficial
  • A high degree of independence, initiative, and commitment, combined with a high level of curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Ability to quickly familiarize with new challenges and to take over responsibility in a team environment
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
