Research Associate (f/m/d) for RF Design

Fraunhofer EMFT conducts applied research on smart sensors and actuator-systems. What you will do

  • You are responsible for the development of RF/Analog blocks as LNA’s, mixers, transimpedance amplifiers, oscillators and VGAs down to transistor and layout level.
  • You will work on building blocks for RF systems
  • You will define the test and verification setup of the RF components and conduct the tests either on a wafer prober or on a test PCB
  • In research or customer driven projects you will interact with colleagues or industrial partners on a system level
  • You publish research results and represent them at conferences.
  • You will supervise students in the course of writing their Bachelor's or Master's thesis.

 

What you bring to the table

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or higher
  • Project experience in the field of integrated RF design
  • Very good knowledge of integrated circuit design for RF circuits
  • Hands on skills using industry-standard design/sim/layout tools like Cadence, HFSS, ADS
  • Good knowledge of the Cadence Design Flow and implementation of the specification up to a complete circuit including layout under consideration of parasitic effects
  • Good knowledge in defining and setting up a test environment for the verification of integrated circuits incl. PCB layout, test hardware and software
  • Understanding of RF test equipment (network/spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power/NF test, load-pull test, EVM/intermodulation/harmonics etc)
