Working Student: Self-Adaptive Software Systems

Safe Intelligence — this forms the core brand of the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS. What you will do

Development and Design of Situation-aware Cognitive Agents for, e.g., autonomous driving and robotics
Integration of Machine Learning algorithms into Cognitive Agents
Experimentation and evaluation of systems in simulated environments
Implementation of example use cases with the real robots and production machines in the IKS Living Lab
Support us in developing frameworks and tools for our industrial partners
Contributions to Research publications

What you bring to the table

Master’s student in Computer Science or equivalent degree
Must have practical experience in Python or C++ programming
Prior experience working with simulators like Autoware, CARLA, Webots, Gazebo will be preferred
Sound knowledge of machine learning techniques and libraries will be preferred
Prior experience setting up robots and their programming, preferably in ROS2
Experience in engineering software systems and model-based software engineering
Sound practical expertise in Agile Software development – Gitlab
Willingness to learn
Analytical, structured, and result-oriented mindset
