Master Thesis »Influence of variable gas compositions on electrochemical CO2 reduction«
As one of 76 institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft we show how to not only master crises, but grow from them. Pushing boundaries. Always trying something new. Not just thinking, but thinking ahead. We turn research into the future. We want an earth that is worth living on. With our applied research on Circular Economy, Carbon Management, Green Hydrogen and Local Energy Systems, we make concrete contributions to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Our employees conduct research in the fields of energy, environment, safety, health, communication and mobility. In the Electrolysis Technology working group, technologies for the production of green hydrogen and the material use of CO2 are investigated on a laboratory scale and further developed with a view to industrial applications. In order to advance electrochemical CO2 reduction under industrially relevant conditions, investigations with realistic gas feeds are required. In this thesis, the influence of potential gas impurities on CO2 electrolysis is to be systematically investigated on a new electrolysis test rig.
