PhD in the field of Catalyst Development

The Chemical Energy Storage department works on tasks relating to catalyst development. Within the Carbon2Chem project, catalysts for the gas purification of industrial gases are being tested. We are looking for your support as part of a promotion!

What you will do

Synthesis, characterization and testing of heterogeneous catalysts
Evaluation of conversion and selectivity data
Independent work in the laboratory and pilot plant
Interpretation and presentation of results
Operation of test facilities

What you bring to the table

Master's degree in chemistry, especially technical chemistry
Knowledge in Phyton and DoE is desirable
Expertise in the synthesis and use of sulfide catalysts is desirable
First experience in evaluating characterization methods, especially XRD, BET is desirable
Independent and conscientious scientific way of working
Very good command of written and spoken English
Strong teamwork and communication skills

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is initially limited to 3 years. The full-time position with half-time pay offers 50% of the working time for your doctorate and 50% for the collaboration in the research project as a research assistant.
