Master's Thesis: Enhancing Usability of Software Health Metrics for Management and Development Teams

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) currently operates 76 institutes and research units throughout Germany and is a leading applied research organization. Around 32 000 employees work with an annual research budget of 3.4 billion euros.

Welcome to the Fraunhofer Institute for Mechatronic Design IEM!
At the »Zukunftsmeile« in Paderborn, Germany, we conduct practical research to develop innovative solutions for mechanical and plant engineering, the automotive industry and related sectors. The focus is on intelligent products, production systems, services and software applications.

In today's software development landscape, the importance of software quality and health cannot be overstated. Poor quality software can lead to increased maintenance costs, security vulnerabilities, and ultimately unsatisfied users. Despite the availability of numerous metrics and tools to assess software quality, many development teams struggle to effectively utilize these resources due to a lack of awareness and understanding of the metrics available to them. Integrating these metrics into existing assessment tools remains a challenge. Current tools often fail to present these metrics in a way that is actionable and easily interpretable by development teams and management.
