Student Assistant KI-based developments

At Fraunhofer IAIS, 360 employees research and develop individual solutions for the integration and analysis of data for our funding bodies and our customers from the industry. Our work focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, multimedia content analytics, information integration and enterprise modeling and analysis. The Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) department works on new, data-driven approaches and innovative solutions for current challenges. The spectrum ranges from basic research in scientific projects to the application of current research results for our customers. For example, we deal with Industry 4.0 technologies, design of experiments, data analysis, active learning, reinforcement learning and operations research. In order to make processes more stable and efficient, we always operate at the interface between research and business.

 

We are looking for you to support us in projects that leverage the power of large language models (LLMs) to create intelligent solutions for our stakeholders. We are looking for bright minds to help implement exciting use cases from research and industry. As a student assistant, you will work together with experienced scientists to plan experiments and analyze data.

 

 You will gain exciting insights into the world of GenAI and its practical application. to perform only the experiments that are really relevant. In addition, you will be integrated into our Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) department and can work on your scientific qualification.

 

What you will do

  • Learning participation in the selection and application of AI methods for data analysis 
  • Support in the development of LLM-based solutions, preferably with User Interface (UI)
  • Participation in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of project deadlines
  • Coordination of requirements and functionalities with project partners

 

What you bring to the table

  • You are studying computer science, mathematics, engineering or in a related field.
  • Ideally, you have already gained initial insights into AI and ML processes. 
  • You have knowledge and skills in software development, preferably Python, JavaScript.
  • You are interested in the topic of artificial intelligence and desire to combine it with expert knowledge.
  • An analytical way of thinking, an independent way of working, a high level of comprehension and good communication skills round off your profile.

The weekly working time is 12 - 20 hours. This position is initially limited to 1 year.
