Senior Scientist (Post-Doc) for the field of "Computer-assisted Diagnosis and Therapy" (f/m/d)

The Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS is a world-leading and internationally connected research center for computer assistance in medicine. With around 140 employees, our mission is performing patient-centric research to improve clinical processes for the benefit of our clinical partners. Together with you, we would like to build and expand our team in Hannover and extend our expertise in software support for data- and image-based diagnosis and therapy.

 

What you will do

In the role of a Senior Scientist, you will support us in opening up new research topics and expanding the Fraunhofer MEVIS team in Hannover. You will bring your personal experience and ideas with you and will build project teams and lead researchers and physicians working in the field of digital medicine. You will understand the requirements of industry and users of medical devices. You see the acquisition of scientific third-party funding and industry projects as a natural part of your job.

 

What you bring to the table

  • A Master's degree (or equivalent) and a doctoral degree in computer science, applied mathematics, biomedical engineering or a related discipline 
  • experience in project acquisition and team leadership 
  • programming skills and experience in software development in the area of medical image processing or machine learning
  • enthusiasm for networking and work in an interdisciplinary environment
  • very good oral and writing skills in English and German
  • joy in communication and presenting the results of your work

You complement your professional qualifications with your personal strengths: you have strong conceptual and analytical skills, enjoy working in a team and bring a structured approach to work, curiosity for new topics and a high degree of initiative.
